"DAYS GONE BY"

The coming of a late winter storm is a time of great transition for wildlife and their environment. While passing this deserted farmstead I witnessed the gathering of these pheasants just as the sunlight began to disappear before the storm front. I tried to capture the character of the old farmstead and the beauty of the ring neck pheasant in its quest for food and shelter. I wanted to depict the nostalgic feeling of the farm. Although old and abandoned, I could feel and see the farm's continued importance to wildlife and society ar large. I hope you enjoy the scene as much as I enjoyed painting it. -Scott Zoellick
